Explore the forests and valleys of Zavkhan on horseback or ride into the Altai Mountains on the border with China before visiting the Eagle Festival, which originally started in order to help preserve ancient Kazakh traditions such as archery, camel racing, tug-of-war with a dead goat, and of course hunting with eagles. The festival is a fantastic two days where local people show off their skills and dress up in their finest traditional outfits. Or you may choose to ride with local horseman through the stunning Khangai Mountain Range in Central Mongolia. During June you can witness the opening ceremony of the Naadam games, the three 'manly' games: wrestling, archery and horse races. This festival epitomises the traditions of the Mongols and provides games, costumes, songs and dances. Whichever ride you choose, you can be sure of a unique experience in this beautiful country.
