Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe is one of the jewels of Africa. To the north the magnificent Zambezi River forms the border with Zambia. Here the mighty Zambezi plunges 360 feet into the gorges below creating a maelstrom of spray and sound and giving rise to the local name "Mosi-oa-Tunya" (the smoke that thunders).
To the south lies Hwange National Park, home to scores of animals and hundreds of birds. Further east the Zambezi flows through Lake Kariba and on to Mana Pools, creating fantastic wildlife sancturies and wonderful canoeing opportunities.
In the remote north-east of the country lies Mavuradonha, a mountainous wilderness reserve, which offers some fantastic horse-riding with great game sightings and fabulous scenery.
