Rajasthan's New Year Ride

14 days - Delhi to Delhi

The princely state of Rajasthan offers a wealth of variety in terms of history, culture, wildlife and scenery. It is home to the famous Marwari horses and provides a fascinating setting for this Christmas and New Year ride.

Historically one of India's most affluent regions, Rajasthan's rich and colourful heritage holds an array of splendid ancient forts and magnificent palaces, many of which are finely decorated with frescoes depicting scenes of the past. The Marwari horse is descended from the splendid warhorses that served the ruling families and warriors of feudal India. Their status was unparalleled, as they were declared divine and superior to all men, including those of Royal blood. These horses are tough, brave, and undeniably beautiful and have proven their ability to adapt and thrive in most environmental conditions.

You will ride these splendid horses on a trail that has been carefully chosen to provide a wide range of riding conditions and plenty of opportunities to visit places of special interest. Riding in forests, across semi-desert areas, over rocky hill ranges, through tribal villages and within wildlife reserves, provides the perfect adventure. The pace will be mainly walking, with short trots, long slow canters and occasional gallops.
