About Us
Fran Griffith, Manager
Fran has ridden her entire life and is passionate about horses. Before joining Equine Adventures she worked for both Okavango Horse Safaris in Botswana and Varden Safaris in Zimbabwe and then opened and ran Pendragon Riding Holidays in West Wales - which offered exclusive rides for experienced riders. After 3 years of working 24/7 and unrelieved horsey talk over the dinner table her long suffering husband had had enough, so they closed Pendragon and Fran started studying Natural Horsemanship. She was lucky enough to spend a couple of months in Florida in 05 studying under Linda and Pat Parelli. Fran says she owns one and a bit horses, Abee (a 15.1hh TB mare) and Barney (a miniture shetland). She has also ridden in Kenya, Malawi, Australia and done most of our South African and Botswana rides. Email Fran |
Isabel Ashworth, Equine Consultant
Isabel learnt to ride at the age of 7 and spent much of her childhood roaming the beautiful Exmoor countryside on horseback. At the age of 11 she got her first pony and enjoyed spending every spare minute communing with her new found friend. Isabel acquired her second pony a couple of years later and thoroughly enjoyed competing at local shows, show jumping and cross country. Horses have remained a passion of Isabel's, but university, travelling and working have meant that they have had to take a back step, although it remains a life long dream for her to own a horse again one day. During a gap year, Isabel was fortunate enough to spend time in Kenya working on a farm, where amongst other duties, she rode around 3000 acres looking for poachers and rounding up cattle to be dipped every week. She also helped look after a string of polo ponies for a while. During her travels she has ridden in Botswana, Zambia, South Africa and played polo crosse in Zimbabwe.Isabel has just returned from our Tuli ride. Email Isabel |
Estelle Somers
Estelle has had a love for horses and the outdoors from an early age - having her first lessons at the age of seven and then spending many an hour helping out at the local stables. After a couple of years she was lucky enough to be able to get her first pony on loan, she then competed for her local pony club at a national level and gradually became more and more obsessed with riding. She spent her teenage years working in her spare time at riding stables in Hampshire. She was involved in teaching riding for the disabled which was a very rewarding experience for her. Many years later and with countless hours in the saddle, including riding in Australia, Tunisia, South Africa and Turkey, Estelle now shares her love for riding with her father who owns a charismatic Andalusian cross Irish draught, and an ex racehorse who was desperately in need of a home after being retired early. Together they enjoy riding across the beautiful countryside of The New Forest. Last years highlight for Estelle was riding The Bivouac Trail in Cappadocia, Turkey. Cappadocia is a UNESCO World Heritage area which she has become fascinated by. She loved the unforgettable combination of history, culture, fantastic scenery, challenging terrain and sleeping under the stars! Email Estelle |
Clementine Gent, Sales Consultant
Growing up on a farm in South Gloucestershire, Clem started riding at an early age. She participated in a wide variety of Pony Club activities and competitions before a move to University in 2000 forced her to sell her horse. Clem still enjoys hacking out in the Cotswolds on one of her sister's horses when she gets the chance. She has ridden in some exciting locations, including Kenya, Guyana and Romania. She enjoys experiencing the countryside from a different viewpoint and getting off the beaten track. Email Clementine |
