Brandy House

Brandy House Weekend

Well our escorted Brandy House weekend has been and gone. It really was a great success due to the hard work and hospitality of Medina and Richard Brock, our unbelievable luck with the weather and a bunch of great clients! To find out more about how the weekend went - click here.

Equine Adventures will be offering a choice of guided or non-guided breaks at Brandy House throughout the rest of the year with an option for local horse hire if you don't want or can't bring your own horse. Non-riding partners can walk, mountain bike (take your own bike), play golf or just relax and read one of Brandy House's millions of books. The riding is seriously good and the accommodation, food and hospitality truly outstanding.

Songimvelo Wilderness Safari

Songimvelo Wilderness Safari

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that as of the 3rd January 2009 South Africa Horseback Safaris will no longer have the concession to ride in Songimvelo Game Reserve.

If you are aware of what is happening in South Africa at the moment, you will know that there is a huge land claim / reform policy to return areas of land to 'historically disadvantaged people'. In short this means that tribes / clans / families can claim land if they can prove that they were forcibly removed by settlers / apartheid government or any other illegal means. No less than 30 families have laid claim to the area known as Songimvelo Game Reserve and whilst the current SA government have stipulated that areas of natural beauty or land that is used for conservation may not be utilised to any other effect it is becoming clear that the game reserve will be turned in to farmland.

There is therefore just the remainder of this year in which to visit and ride in Songimvelo before you loose the chance forever. In conjunction with South Africa Horseback Safaris we will be running the Songimvelo Wilderness Safari for the remainder of the 2008 season as well as offering a Special New Year Safari from 28 December to 3 January. Kafue National Park in Zambia

Zambia Horseback Safaris

We are excited to announce that Steven and Lucy Rufus (South African Horseback Safaris) are signing a 99 year lease and moving to the outskirts of Kafue National Park in Zambia. They will be building a small lodge during the year, moving the horses in early 2009 and opening for business at the start of 2009 season.

Kafue is the largest and oldest park in Zambia and situated fairly close to Livingstone and the Victoria Falls, so there is a great opportunity for you to see these magnificent waterfalls before or after riding in the African bush. Kafue has immense herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as a plethora of plains game and the accompanying predators.

If you are interesting in joining one of the first rides please call 0845 130 6981 for advance registration.
