Type of Riding: Trail Ride - plenty of trotting with with occasional canters and gallops.
Type of Tack: French.
Hours in the Saddle: 4 to 6 hours a day.
Riding Ability Required: Novice upwards.
Maximum Weight: 100kgs (15st 7lbs)
Number of Guides per Ride: 1 guide plus an interpreter.
Minimum/Maximum number of riders in group: 2/10 (normally 8)
Looking after the horse: Guests are expected to groom and tack up their horses.
ABOUT THE HORSES
The horses used have been individually chosen for their temperament and suitability. The herd of 17 is mainly locally bred Selle Francais, French Trotters or Anglo Arabs. The Selle Francais is a naturally athletic horse with a willing attitude and a "people" personality. Here are a few of the horses you might meet.
Danagan 15.3hh, Anglo Arab. Danagan lacks confidence and although an easy ride, needs a confident quiet rider.
Just'en Mai 16hh, Selle Francais. A quiet ride but can be unexpectedly playful on the first gallop.
Klara 16.2hh, French Trotter.Very quiet and gentle. Happy by herself or in company. Ideal for all riders except total novices.
Have 17hh, French Trotter. Very attentive mare. Good for experienced riders.
Lovely 15.2hh, Anglo Arab. Responsive, and gentle Lovely is ideal for an experienced rider.
Obelix 15.2hh, Selle Francais. Lovely ride but requires a rider with really quiet hands.
Idole 16hh, Selle Francais. Beautiful but very nervous. Needs a quiet confident rider with good hands.
Dalhia 15.2hh. Quiet. Good for novice riders
Ankou 15.2hh, Anglo Arab x Selle Francais. Suitable for all riders.
Ubu 16hh, French Trotter. Comfortable and easy to ride.
