ABOUT THE RIDING
Style of Riding: English, although the horses are used to being ridden on a loose rein and neck reined.
Type of Riding: Centre-Based/Safari. Rides are tailored to the guests requirements. The terrain is open grasslands with excellent going so there is plenty of opportunity for fast riding.
Type of Tack: Comfortable English & Western trail saddles.
Hours in the Saddle: 4 to 6 hours a day.
Riding Ability Required: Intermediate upwards. It is a great advantage if you are riding fit and used to long hours in the saddle. This is Big Game country and fast, evasive action may be required.
Maximum Weight: 95kgs (14st7lbs).
Number of Guides per Ride: 1 guide.
Minimum/Maximum number of riders in group: 2/10.
Looking after the horse: You are not expected to assist with grooming or looking after the horse.
ABOUT THE HORSES
The herd of 40 includes Boerperds, Arab and TB crosses. The horses are all used for cattle work on the farm and are well trained and enjoyable to ride. Greassland breed and train their own horses.
