ABOUT THE RIDING

England

Style of Riding: English.

Type of Riding: Centre-Based. The riding is over open moorland and up steep, woody coombes. The riding is dictated by the guests but there are plenty of opportunities for long canters. Guests can also take lessons in Natural Horsemanship with Stephany.

Type of Tack: English leather GPs and Wintec saddles,

Hours in the Saddle: 3 to 5 hours a day. During the winter weekends rides are seldom longer than 3 hours.

Riding Ability Required: Confident novice upwards. You must be able to walk, trot and canter and feel confident about riding in wide open spaces.

Maximum Weight: 90kg (14st)

Number of Guides per Ride: 1 or 2 depending on group size.

Minimum/Maximum number of riders in group: 1/8.England

Looking after the horse: Guests are not expected to groom or tack up their horse but can help untack and wash down after the ride.

ABOUT THE HORSES

There are 12 horses of various breeds, including an Andalucian, Arabs, a Lusitano-Fell cross, and a part quarter-horse to name but a few. The horses are all well schooled and Stephany goes out of her way to match you with the right one. You can even take your own horse if you prefer.
