ABOUT THE RIDING
Style of Riding: Western - the horses are schooled to neck rein.
Type of Riding: Ranch Holiday/Centre-Based - Rides are tailored to suit the guest's requirements and can include fast work. The terrain ranges from grass meadows, where it is possible to canter to more mountainous trails. Price Canyon discourages 'nose to tail' riding. Cattle drives are scheduled around the beginning of every month and take place over a two day period.
Type of Tack: Western.
Hours in the Saddle: Up to 6 hours a day - depending on your requirements. If there is a scheduled cattle drove, the hours in the saddle may be longer.
Riding Ability Required: Beginnner upwards. Price Canyon is suitable for all levels of rider and offers private lessons in western riding at a rate of US$25 per hour. Private lessons must be booked in advance but are payable locally.
Maximum Weight: 110kg (17st)
Number of Guides per Ride: 1 wrangler for every 5 to 6 guests.
Minimum/Maximum number of riders in group: 1/10.
Looking after the horse: Guests are encouraged to groom and tack up their horse.
