What to Pack

Dress is very casual, even for the visits out, jeans and T-shirts or a summery dress, are fine. There is a laundry facility you can use to, so you don't even have to pack too many riding clothes. In spring, autumn and especially in the summer months, it can get very hot, so to avoid feeling sweaty and sticky all the time, try to stick to natural fabrics, especially cotton. There are many fantastic new products on the market, including full cotton seamless underwear, which is a blessing for the trail rides. Don't forget about fine cotton socks, too.

We would suggest the following:

  • Swimming costume.
  • Jodphurs or riding trousers.
  • Half chaps.
  • Long sleeved shirts or T shirts.
  • Casual clothing for town visits and evenings.
  • Shoes for evening.
  • Fleece.
  • Waterproof/windroof jacket.
  • Underwear.
  • Sun hat that stays on.
  • Sun block & lip balm.
  • Mosquito repellent.
  • Head torch.
  • Swimming costume.
  • Camera, fim and batteries.
  • Reading material.
Riding hats are not mandatory in many of the countries in which we operate. However, we strongly recommend that you always ride in a hat and that it conforms to BHS requirements (PAS015, BSEN1384). Riding without a hat could affect a claim on insurance. Please note that a riding hat is obligatory for those under 21.
