What to Pack
Patagonia is renowned for its' extreme climate changes, expect to experience four seasons within a matter of hours. Average daily temperatures vary but in summer one can expect 10 - 20 degrees celsius with the occasional hot day of 25 degrees. Temperatures can drop to zero at night and high winds are common in this area. Although you can never be sure of how Patagonia will treat its guests, we ask that you are prepared (both mentally and physically) for unpredictable and sometimes challenging weather and pack accordingly. Layers that can be added and removed easily are recommended. Good waterproofs are essential.
- Swimming Costume
- Jodhpurs or long trousers.
- Short riding boots or ride/walk boots such as Ariat Terrain.
- Full or half chaps.
- Long sleeved shirt and/or T shirts,
- Warm clothing/Fleece.
- Thermal underwear.
- Cycling shorts are good for long days in the saddle.
- Waterproof/windproof jacket and trousers.
- Warm hat.
- Casual clothes for evening.
- Trainers or comfortable shoes for evening.
- Head torch
- Personal toiletries.
- Sun block.
- Lip balm.
- Camera, film, batteries and binoculars.
Riding hats are not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend that you always ride in a hat and that it conforms to BHS requirements (PAS015, BSEN1384). Riding without a hat could effect a claim on insurance.
