What to Pack
The best time for game-viewing in the Central Kalaharis is just after the rains, when huge herds of zebra and wildebeest form. The rains cannot be predicted and can occur anytime between October and March. However exploring with the bushman and general game-viewing can take place at any time of year. During winter day-time temperatures should be in the mid-twenties, but evenings, nights and early mornings can be very cold. Layers that can easily be added or removed are therefore recommended. In summer (October to March) it can be extremely hot during the day.
We strongly recommend the use of neutral-colour clothing (khaki, brown, beige and green) that blends in with the bush (no brightly coloured or white clothing).
