What to Pack
Ireland has a a similar climate to the UK so be prepared for all sorts of weather, including rain. Layers are ideal and make sure you pack waterprooofs.
- Jodhpurs or long trousers.
- Short riding boots or ride/walk boots such as Ariat Terrain or rubber riding boots.
- Half chaps
- Long sleeved shirt and/or T shirts,
- Warm clothing/Fleece.
- Underwear. Thermal underwear is good, as you can get extra warmth without taking up too much space. Cycling shorts are good for long days in the saddle.
- Waterproof/windproof jacket and trousers.
- Casual clothes for evening.
- Trainers or comfortable shoes for evening.
- Head torch
- Personal toiletries.
- Sun block.
- Lip balm.
- Camera, film and batteries.
Riding hats are not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend that you always ride in a hat and that it conforms to BHS requirements (PAS015, BSEN1384). Riding without a hat could effect a claim on insurance.
