What to Pack
Because everything must be loaded on pack-horses, you must pack your clothes in a standard sized roll bag, weighing no more than 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Swimming Costume
- Jodhpurs or long trousers.
- Waterproof short riding boots or ride/walk boots such as Ariat Terrain H2O.
- Long sleeved shirt and/or T shirts,
- Warm clothing/Fleece.
- Thermal underwear.
- Cycling shorts are good for long days in the saddle.
- Waterproof/windproof jacket and trousers.
- Warm hat.
- Casual clothes for evening.
- Gloves.
- Trainers or comfortable shoes for evening.
- Head torch
- Personal toiletries.
- Mosquito repellent.
- Sun block.
- Lip balm.
- Sleeping bag (4-seasons).
- Pillow case - this can be stuffed with a jacket ot clothes to make a pillow.
- Towel.
- Camera, film, batteries and binoculars.
- Therm-a-rest pad.
- Soft roll bag.
Therm-a-rest pads, warm sleeping bags, roll bags and oil skin slickers can be hired locally. Please let us know in advance if you wish to hire equipment.
Riding hats are not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend that you always ride in a hat and that it conforms to BHS requirements (PAS015, BSEN1384). Riding without a hat could effect a claim on insurance.
