What to Pack
In the summer temperatures can reach up to 30C, however the weather can be extremely changeable at altitude and it has been known to snow in summer. It can also become very cold at night. The best way to dress is in layers - a T-shirt, shirt, pullover (or fleece which is light and dries quickly), and a jacket and trousers to give protection against wind and rain.
Sleeping bags, thermo-o-rests and tents are provided. Each guest is provided with a set of saddlebags. Jackets and pullovers can be tied to the back of the saddle.
- Swimming Costume
- Jodhpurs or long trousers.
- Short riding boots or ride/walk boots such as Ariat Terrain.
- Half chaps.
- Long sleeved shirt and/or T shirts,
- Warm clothing/Fleece.
- Thermal underwear.
- Waterproof/windproof jacket and trousers.
- Warm hat.
- Casual clothes for evening.
- Trainers or comfortable shoes for evening.
- Head torch
- Personal toiletries.
- Insect repellent.
- Sun block.
- Lip balm.
- Camera, film, batteries and binoculars.
Riding hats are not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend that you always ride in a hat and that it conforms to BHS requirements (PAS015, BSEN1384). Riding without a hat could effect a claim on insurance.
